Work Experiences
RoboThink
Sept 2021 - Present
RoboThink is a STEM organisation where I teach robotics lessons to children aged 5 to 9 years old. Here I got to learn many fundamental skills that have posed useful to me throughout my journey as an Early Childhood Educator. I have learned to better my classroom management skills, lesson planning skills, organisation skills, and many more. This job has also equipped me with skills such as robotics and basic coding skills such as Drag and Drop.
The Scorpion
In this lesson, I aided the children in building a lego structure of a scorpion that can be automated to move using a remote control. The child in the video is able to grasp this concept and was able to connect the DC Motor correctly to the Mainboard to provide the motor energy to move. I aided using ongoing facilitation when the child needed prompts at times with the wire connections.
The Chassis Car
In this lesson, The child built a more complex build containing 2 DC Motors where 2 parts of the car could move. I provided aid when the child needed it when connecting both motors to the mainboard as it was a new concept for the boy. He was able to grasp it well and can be seen manoeuvring the robot with ease.
Bricks4Kidz
Jan 2021 - Jan 2022
Bricks4Kidz is an enrichment organisation that conducts lego building classes for children. My first time facilitating classes was when I worked here. I got to aid the host teacher who taught the children about the specified build of the week. Working here, I got to gain confidence in taking a class of my own. I got to communicate with experienced educators and learn more about the importance of observation from them.

The Kangaroo
In this lesson, I aided the children in building a lego structure of a kangaroo using various lego pieces. This lesson was based on the topic of the term "Animals" and the children got to learn various facts through the PowerPoint slides we had shared with them at the start. I then ask the children prompting questions at the end of the lesson to assess their learning from the lesson.

The Peacock
In this lesson, I aided the children in building a lego structure of a peacock. The children were provided 5 minutes for them to add to their building after completing to modify their peacock. In this image, the boy explained to me that he had added extra lego pieces at the end of the gear to depict the peacock spreading its feathers.
